How much does it cost to go on Celebrity Solstice?

The Solstice is the first ship in the Solstice class for Celebrity Cruises. The Solstice is the sister ship of Celebrity Eclipse, Celebrity Equinox, Celebrity Silhouette, and Celebrity Silhouette. A quiet refuge by day for gazing over the sea with a cocktail at hand. Don't look back, look forward and be amazed by the breathtaking views in our ultimate observation lounge. The floor to ceiling windows will captivate and the expansive space will please you as you relax in the comfy seating all around. The lounge is versatile and can be transformed to suit any occasion.

Current itinerary of Celebrity Solstice

Cruising has changed since the pandemic, with all cruise lines cutting back on their services, food, and other areas. However, I was still impressed with the quality of the cruise we had on the Celebrity Solstice. Unfortunately, Celebrity does not provide a self-serve laundromat for passengers. Celebrity is part of the Royal Caribbean Group (RCG), and no cruise lines within RCG offer it. Note the spa does not have a jetted pool area as part of its thermal suite, the Persian Garden. In higher-end spas, the powerful jets are therapeutic and very popular among cruise passengers.

This incredible area has half an acre of real grass and is unique to Celebrity Solstice class vessels. The Eclipse and the Solstice had quality dining and service in the main dining room. However, due to the pandemic, Celebrity has streamlined food selection with fewer premium cuts of meat. The cabin was in the forward section of Deck 10 at the start of a short hallway with other inside cabins.

A galley tour, available as a complimentary activity to anyone who wanted to participate, offered enlightening insights into how thousands of meals are prepared multiple times a day on a cruise ship. Definitely take part in this if it’s offered on your Solstice sailing. Significantly larger are the two Penthouse Suites, measuring 1,291 square feet with 389-square-foot balconies.

Search and you shall (hopefully) find!

Have fun in the water playing pool volleyball with ship officers, take part in interactive pool games, enjoy live music, and much more. Dance the night away in a vibrant nightclub designed for those ready to kick back and get down. Quasar is a modern nightclub like no other you will experience on the open seas. With a retro touch, it will feel like the perfect spot for adults of all ages, luring you in with its electrifying pulse. The lunch desserts on the Solstice were, by far, the best buffet desserts I’ve experienced on a cruise. Which is why I arrived back home wearing a towel skirt (grew out of all my pants in 7 days, oops).

Deck layouts of all Solstice-class Celebrity liners show optimized interior architecture designs for easy passenger flow. The vessel is very easy to navigate, with all entertainment venues located forward and all food venues located aft. This ship also has solar panels to produce (though of limited amount) electricity, fuel-efficient hull design, and coatings, eco-friendly lighting. With our quick service, your favorite photos and portraits can be viewed in the Photo Gallery the following day.

Included with your cruise fare:

Celebrity Solstice is now equipped with Starlink internet service by SpaceX, bringing you high speed connectivity. Other benefits include an exclusive welcome aboard lunch in the main dining room, dedicated concierge desk and in-room enhancements such as a King size bed and a pillow menu. Shoeshine service is complimentary, as is use of a golf umbrella and binoculars. Besides the main dining room, passengers aboard Celebrity Solstice can dine in three specialty restaurants. One of the dining venues aboard is reserved exclusively for guests in Aqua Class staterooms.

The Lido Deck on 14 is where you'll find both of Celebrity Solstice's pools. The covered Solarium is adults only, most of the day, and provides ample and airy seating, even when the weather isn't great. The outdoor pool is a nice size, with seating alcoves nearby (unlike on Edge-class ships, these primo lounges are free) and also facing outward.

The world-renown artists of Skullmapping™ have reached a true pinnacle of their custom 3D table animation art form. This dining experience is beautifully choreographed with an elegant menu created by our Michelin Star Chef. We'd shy away from booking a balcony cabin with an obstructed view on Deck 6, however, as the lifeboats/tenders dominate your field of vision (and inhibit good picture taking). We also heard that forward cabins were especially susceptible to noise from the foghorn on an Alaska itinerary. One side brings you past shops and venues like the Qasar nightclub, while the other takes you through the (happily,  non-smoking) casino. A smaller entertainment venue, Celebrity Connections, is often used for lectures and other events when there's a show going on in the larger theater.

If you’re a fan of repositioning cruises, you can sail the Solstice to the Hawaiian Islands and across the South Pacific to New Zealand and Australia. The Theatre is the premier live performance venue aboard Celebrity Eclipse®. While accommodating a generous audience, it retains a comfortable, intimate atmosphere, bringing you production shows, beautiful musical arrangements, and sidesplitting comedy. The boat has 15 decks, of which 14 are passenger-accessible and 8 with cabins. Luxury adopts a casual, country club charm at the Patio on the Lawn.

Celebrity Solstice broke new ground when it debuted in 2008, and while several sister ships have undergone what the line calls "Revolutionized" status, this vessel has not. That means that it lacks some areas and amenities that are now standard on the line. Our onboard activities and entertainment will make your vacation an unforgettable adventure.

Witness majestic landscapes as you cruise through the Inside Passage. Because you’re crossing an ocean, you get a different perspective on slow travel and the vastness of the world. For example, Alaska’s cruise season runs from May to September, which means that during the off-season months, the ship will be sailing around another region of the world.

Remarkable Port CitiesExtraordinary Journeys

To avoid the high cost of single supplements charged to solo travelers in standard cabins meant for at least two people, single cruisers can travel with friends and share a room. (Many cabins can sleep up to four.) Also, you might feel more confident heading to the ship's bars or nightclubs in a group. One-way sailings between Seattle or Vancouver and Alaska often include travel in the other direction by air as an option (along with land excursions in Alaska). Transatlantic repositioning cruises and segments of extra-long cruises may also offer optional one-way air—usually a good deal, given that one-way intercontinental airfares are usually very high.

Extraordinary Journeys

Due to increased cruise itineraries in the Middle East and Asia over the last decade, you might also find a repositioning cruise departing or returning to either of those regions. For example, MSC Cruises offers cruises from Dubai in the United Arab Emirates to Genoa, Italy, in April prior to sailing European itineraries in the spring and summer. The aforementioned sailing lasts about three weeks — a long trek through the Suez Canal, connecting the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea, by way of Egypt.

Repositioning Cruises: What Are the Positives?

Either way, they provide an easy opportunity to start a conversation with other singles before you ever set foot on the ship. Our Princess fleet includes ships that range from our smaller vessels to large ships. From a balcony stateroom, marvel at the glaciers passing by before enjoying local seafood in one of our many eateries during your Voyage of the Glaciers cruise. Icy Strait Point is home to the remote Tlingit village of Hoonah, home to fewer than 800 people and a deep Native history. The nearby Spasski River Valley holds one of the world’s largest populations of brown bears, who are often found hunting for salmon in the rivers.

Departure Ports for One-Way Cruises to Alaska

Choose tours focused on wildlife watching, historical sites or food and beverage to meet shipmates who enjoy the same. Dining arrangements, onboard activities and port tours make meeting like-minded people easy. Also, it's socially acceptable to strike up conversations with others throughout the ship. Play the fastest-growing sport in the U.S. with Holland America Line, the exclusive cruise line partner of the Professional Pickleball Association. All our cruise ships feature pickleball courts with amazing top-deck views.

What Weather Can I Expect on a Repositioning Cruise?

Most one-way cruises are repositioning cruises, and because the ships spend so much time at sea, they often have very low prices. The majority of Mediterranean and Baltic sailings take place in the spring through the early fall. Europe-based ships flee the region during the winter, spending November through March in the warm Caribbean.

You also might want to consider springing for a cruise line's all-inclusive beverage package on a repositioning cruise. You'll get better value than usual from the price because you'll be ordering most of your drinks on board due to fewer port stops. Cruise ships chase warm and sunny climates, so they often move, or "reposition," from one part of the world to another when chilly weather sets in. Cruise lines don't want to sail a ghost ship, one carrying only crew and no passengers, across the ocean because it's wasting an opportunity to earn money. They have figured out that by discounting rates, they can fill the cabins on these oddball itineraries. Looking for a cruise where you can truly kick back and take advantage of onboard amenities without getting caught up in the hustle and bustle of a different port of call every day?

Since repositioning cruises have to travel such long distances, they tend to be lengthier and can last anywhere from 13 to 19 nights. Repositioning cruises often incorporate a multitude of sea days, offering a more relaxing vacation without hectic, back-to-back port calls. Book your reservations ahead of time if you can, or at least, get an idea of what you plan on doing and seeing. Take the time to learn a few words in the native language, and watch the faces of the locals light up. Even just a simple “hello,” “excuse me,” “thank you,” or “have a nice day” is more than enough to win bonus points. But don’t worry if you won’t have the opportunity, you’ll find that many countries speak English in addition to their first language – and often, a couple more on top of that!

For transatlantic cruises, the best time to set sail is either spring and fall, when the weather is still warm but prices are more affordable. However, transpacific cruises are recommended during the Southern Hemisphere's winter, from May to October. Transpacific and transatlantic cruises offer plenty of relaxing days at sea, plus exciting stops at idyllic, beach-filled islands and cities bustling with life and culture. You’ll have blissful, uninterrupted days at sea during which you can enjoy the ship, keep a watch for marine life, relax, have time to yourself, and generally get into the rhythm of cruising. A repositioning cruise is an exciting journey full of relaxing days at sea and stops in exotic destinations along the way.

However, if you plan your vacation well enough in advance, you should be able to find the cruise you’re looking for without any trouble. Typically, a repositioning cruise is when the embarkation port and the disembarkation port are different, a repositioning cruise is like a one-way ticket. These types of cruises are less common than destination cruises, but they can also be less expensive. Celebrity Cruises' Celebrity Edge will relocate from its base in Sydney on April 14, 2025. Its ultimate destination is Vancouver, where it will be stationed for a series of Alaska voyages.

All the major cruise lines offer the occasional repositioning cruises, typically on ships that usually sail in destinations with shorter seasons, such as Alaska or the Mediterranean. The second in Celebrity’s Edge series of ocean liners is the cruise line’s ship with most single staterooms (24), increasing your odds of meeting other single cruisers. The ship itself is stunning and the cabins spacious for single foodies looking for a solo vacation at sea, but the culinary scene on the Celebrity Apex is the star of this show. It’s a dining experience unparalleled in the world of cruising, which makes it perfect for a solo foodie wanting to taste adventure.

Stroll downtown for amazing restaurants, charming shops, and art galleries. Ketchikan is home to the world’s largest collection of Northwest totem poles, each with its own story to tell. It’s the perfect place to explore local heritage and watch a master totem pole carver at work. Set sail between Seward, Alaska and Vancouver, Canada on a one-way cruise to Alaska. Discover a variety of fascinating ports in the Last Frontier, like Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point, and Juneau.

With an overwhelming world of choices, we understand you may need some personal assistance to plan your perfect vacation.

Cruise Liners A to Z

Those expecting travel experiences out of a cruise are set to be disappointed. You won't be meeting any locals, hunting for new places to see on a map, making impromptu plans or indulging in authentic local flavours, even if you are on some of the best cruises in India. The cruise trip cost in India depends on various inclusions and exclusions. The luxury Angriya cruise from Mumbai to Goa costs between INR 4,500 to INR 7,500 per person for a dorm room. You will have to pay INR 2,000 extra for food which includes buffet dinner and breakfast, tea, coffee, and snacks on this cruise from Mumbai. If you are asking about an international cruise from India, there is one between Mumbai and Male.

South Mumbai is the worldliest part of the city and home to many of its most-loved sights. Walk around the base of the massive Gateway of India — the arch-shaped monument was built in 1924 and meant to be the first thing visitors see when they arrive by boat. Or pop your head inside the Taj Mahal Palace hotel, one of India's most opulent and recognizable buildings. Southeast Asia’s most modern city, Singapore, also contains a lot of history and treasures from the past, along with a perfect tropical climate – all making Singapore a wonderful destination year round. Filled with incredible sights, beautiful landscapes, fun activities, delicious food and much more, there is a lot for families to see and do in India. Though India is considered a generally safe country, due to its size, some areas are more dangerous than others.
